"Dynamic pricing", once the cornerstone of transport [Airlines every day, Uber when it rains], tried to come for your burger. The Wendy's Company attempted to make shareholders happy last month [but consumer backlash was swift - and they went back to tinker with the idea in the kitchen]. But don't think others aren't waiting to cash in on your peek need of [fill in the blank]. Amazon remains many a brand's measuring stick [longer than your social media post telling them to f*&ck off]. "Amazon, for example, reportedlychanges prices millions of times per day, with the average product’s price shiftingevery 10 minutes" Dynamic Pricing x Your Dinner = The future of food pricing. "In the future, the ideal time to eat a burger won’t be when you’re hungry and really hankering for one. It’ll be the oddest, most awkward hours — late mornings or afternoons, the middle of the night on a Tuesday — the slices of time when prices will be lowest. Not unlike yourUberride, fast food prices will go up or down depending on demand" So no, you're not losing your mind; all prices are fluctuating at an alarming rate.

Urgent Warning for DoorDash and Uber Eats Users: Unacceptable Tipping PracticesAttention DoorDash and Uber Eats users,It has come to our attention that certain independent contractors for DoorDash and Uber Eats are engaging in unacceptable practices regarding tips. If you've experienced instances where drivers accept orders and then unassign them due to a lack of tip, it's crucial to take action. What You Need to Know:- Blacklisting customers based on tipping behavior is not only unfair but also goes against the principles of these platforms.- If you encounter such behavior, do not hesitate to call out these actions on Reddit. Community awareness is essential for fostering accountability. What You Should Do:1. Report the incident to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) by contacting 1-800-FREE411 or visiting the Better Business Bureau® Profile.2. Reach out to DoorDash directly through their application. Inform them about the actions of independent contractors who accept orders and then unassign them solely due to a lack of tip.3. Report the incident to your state's consumer affairs or business regulatory body. This ensures that such practices are brought to the attention of the authorities.By taking these steps, you contribute to the collective effort in holding independent contractors accountable for their actions. Remember, your voice matters, and these platforms are meant to provide fair and transparent services for both customers and drivers.Do not ignore these instances; instead, take action to create a community that values integrity and fairness within the gig economy.Stay vigilant and advocate for positive change.Brandon Vaughan DoorDash, Uber

Why is Delivery Hero selling its 4.5% stake in Deliveroo? I think it's because DH wants to deploy it's available resources with a focus on:a) markets it can win inb) capital deployment where it can direct strategyLeaving capital in Deliveroo where 60% of the revenue is from UK & Ireland - a highly competitive market doesn't fit with a). And DH has a laser focus on being in profitable international markets and probably would not make the same decisions on international markets as Deliveroo would, so this doesn't solve for b).The real question for me is: What does Amazon want to do with it's investment in Deliveroo.... is there clear strategic alignment the two companies should be leveraging??? - Could Deliveroo be a local fulfilment partner of Amazon sellers? - Can add-on Amazon items be warehoused in MFCs in such a way that they can be added to Deliveroo orders? - Is there a physical retail strategy where Deliveroo Hop and Wholefoods and Amazon Go could be combined?Your thoughts?

DoorDash did not disclose what the hourly rate is. The second option is called “Earn Per Offer” and is the existing earning mode available on the platform, but with a more “efficient, streamlined suggest route,” DoorDash says. Delivery people who choose this way of earning will be shown upfront the guaranteed minimum amount they can expect to make plus 100% of tips. Image Credits: DoorDash “At the start of every dash where Earn by Time is available, Dashers can choose which earning mode they want to use and at any time, they can end their dash and start a new one in a different mode when available,” the company explained in a blog post. “With these two earning modes, Dashers tod...
