Bacon! BACON! BACON! Always a good idea and perfect addition to so many dishes. You can cook your bacon so easily and without a mess in the Air Fryer to make life a little easier. Here’s how!
Air Fryer Bacon
Can we just dive right into this one?
Place 5 slices of bacon into the airy fryer (you may be able to fit more if you have a larger air fryer). Set the temperature to 390 degrees. Cook for 10-12 minutes depending on the crispiness level you like. 11 minutes is perfect for me where it is crunchy but still has great flavor.
To clean the air fryer after cooking bacon, drain the fat into a mug and let that thicken up. Once thickened, dispose in the garbage. Wipe the inside of your air fryer clean. No bacon splatter to clean up! Amen.
Take note that I am using thick cut bacon which I always recommend buying. If you have a thin cut bacon, reduce your time.
What can you use bacon with?
The short answer is anything. Some ideas include with waffles for breakfast, in a BLT for lunch, on a salad, on top of a cheeseburger, make crumbles for potato soup or eat as a snack.

Save that bacon grease to flavor things like green beans, hominy, greens and much more. I use a small glass jar to pour the hot grease into then put it in the refrigerator when cool.

I dump out the excess grease into a mug so I can dispose of it once it hardens. Then, just remove the basket from the air fryer and rinse under hot water to break up any fat that has stuck on it. Lightly scrub with soap and water as needed.
My hubby and I live the keto lifestyle and this bacon recipe makes me very happy! Now all I need is the air fryer. 🙂 I’ve been reading so much about them lately. I frying in an air fryer considered healthier than deep-frying? Thanks!

Yea, I have had my air fryer for almost a year and just started to really use it. I also like to cook hard boiled eggs in mine but you can cook all sorts of things.
Preheat the air fryer at 320°F for 5 minutes. Pour 1/4 cup of water into the bottom of the air fryer to minimize smoke. Place bacon in a single layer into the preheated air fryer basket.
If you're using an oven-style air fryer, you'll want to put the bacon on an air-fry basket (basically a mesh rack) with either a solid pan or a piece of aluminum foil folded up on the edges underneath to catch any bacon grease drippings.
You only have to try cooking bacon in the Air Fryer once for it to become your new favorite way to cook bacon. It's perfectly crisp every time and since the air circulates, there's no need to flip the bacon halfway.
Easy cleanup: Most air fryer parts are dishwasher-safe. Extra crispy results, thanks to the high-speed circulation of hot air. Less fat: The bacon doesn't sit in its fat while cooking, since it drips off and through the basket.
Paladino, who has nearly 180,000 followers, says bacon made in an air fryer tastes the same as it would in a frying pan. Don't let your strips of bacon overlap in the air fryer. "The air fryer just makes it easier to cook, allowing for more even cooking and control," he told CNET.
Place it in the fryer basket and preheat it for 5 minutes at 400°F (204 °C). Crack an egg to a small cup and slide the egg to the hot pan. Air fry at 350°F (177°C) for 3 minutes for a sunny side over easy fried egg. If you prefer a fried egg with medium egg yolk, add 1 more minute to the cooking time.
Foil is safe to use in an air fryer so long as you follow three basic rules: never let foil touch the heating element; make sure the foil is weighted so it doesn't blow around the basket; and avoid contact with acidic ingredients, which can cause the foil to leach onto your food.
Air fryer bacon is so crispy, and the grate in the air fryer allows some of the bacon fat to drip off as it cooks. This method is also a littler faster than baking bacon in the oven. The only downside to this method is unless you have a giant air fryer, you can't cook more than a few servings at once.
Yes, you can put a small piece of parchment paper or a paper towel in an air fryer to help absorb excess oil and prevent sticking, but it should be used sparingly and monitored to avoid any fire hazards. No worries about fire but paper towels have poor cohesion and will degrade in contact in contact with oil or water.
For crispy bacon, be sure to arrange the bacon in a single layer, without overlapping the pieces. It's okay if the bacon goes up the sides of the air fryer basket slightly, as it will shrink significantly as it cooks.
Yes, and here's what you need to know. Parchment paper is a safe and effective liner to use in the air fryer. To avoid safety hazards, weigh down the paper with food and keep away from the heating element. Parchment paper can be heated up to roughly 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Regular, thin-cut bacon will typically bake in 12 minutes at 400 degrees F. If you want it extra crispy, you can let it bake a little longer, but keep a close eye on it. For Thick-Cut Bacon. Thicker bacon will take 14 to 20 minutes, depending upon your thickness and how crisp you would like it to be.
The easiest way to tell is by the color of the pork. Just like with many other types of meat, uncooked bacon will be light pink with white strips of fat. When it's ready to eat, those rosy hues will have darkened to a reddish-brown color, and the fat will morph into a tan or golden shade.
The air fryer heats bacon evenly while draining excess fat for that great crispy texture. Plus, unlike stovetop or oven cooking, the air fryer requires no added fat. You can also save the rendered bacon grease for other cooking purposes.
Place 1-2 pieces of bread underneath your air fryer's basket. The bread acts as a sponge and soaks up any excess grease that could cause your air fryer to smoke!
